Volunteering

Why volunteer?

We’ve been helping people and families overcome sensory loss challenges since 1922 – providing practical support, expert services and trusted advice when it matters most.

Volunteering is rewarding

Becoming a volunteer is a rewarding experience and a great way to help in the local community.

If you speak to people who already volunteer, they will tell you they do it because they love it!

Michael volunteers as a befriender and shares his experience with us:

“My role is very rewarding – people are so pleased to receive a call. Sometimes they just want someone to listen to them, sometimes we have a chat, but we nearly always end up having a laugh.”

We offer the following volunteering roles:

Volunteer Home Visitor or Phone Befriender

Volunteer Driver

Technology Volunteer

CYPS Volunteer

Community Hub Volunteer

Hearing Loss Volunteer
